No Less Than Victory is a great book about the lives of both the soldiers and their Generals during the Second World War. The book focuses on the strategic and political difficulties of the Western Front during the year 1944. The reason that I find this book to be interesting is because not only do you get to see the war from the perspective of General Eisenhower, you also see what German Field Marshall Rundstedt had for difficulties and successes. The other parts of the book try to help you understand what the front line American soldiers had to do to survive not only the war, but also the freezing cold of a winter in the Ardennes Forest. Unknown to the men on the front line, the cold will be the least of their problems when the Germans start their infamous counter attack known as the Battle Of The Bulge.
I think this is a interesting sounding book.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like you learned a lot from this book. Do you recommend it for others? I have read a lot of books about war and this sounds like a good read.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'm actually not a fan of books, but maybe this year I'll learn how to love it. I like this type of book, it's kinda like action and drama
ReplyDeleteIf I had to pick a book to read this would be the kind of book id pick I love learning about this era in our nations history.
ReplyDeleteYes I would recommend this book to anybody that is interested in history or anybody that enjoys exciting books. If you are only looking for action this is still a good choice but I think that this book will be enjoyed more if you are interested in it for historical reasons.
